Requirements, protected cells and what to do about the Protected View bar.
Templates need Excel 2019 or later, or Microsoft 365. They work in desktop Excel on Windows and Mac and in Excel for the web.
Files downloaded from the internet open in Protected View. Select Enable Editing to start working. Templates contain no macros, so you will never be asked to enable content.
Input cells are shaded and unlocked. Formula cells are locked so they cannot be overwritten by accident.
Steps
- 1Download the .xlsx file from My templates.
- 2Open it and select Enable Editing.
- 3Save it to the location your team uses before you start entering data.
